Stonham Barns Park – a part of the Cosgrove Leisure Parks UK group – has welcomed Wags and Wiggles to its expanding Retail Village at Stonham Aspal, Suffolk. Wags and Wiggles, a specialist dog grooming service dedicated to supporting anxious and nervous dogs, has opened its doors at the Mid-Suffolk venue bringing a much-needed facility to pet owners in the region. Founded by Paige James, the new grooming studio has been designed with sensitive dogs in mind, offering a calming and supportive environment for pets who find traditional grooming settings stressful. Paige has implemented a one-to-one service at Wags and Wiggles, ensuring that each dog receives undivided attention during their grooming session. By avoiding the presence of multiple dogs in the studio, pets can relax without feeling unsettled by unfamiliar faces or noises, creating a truly bespoke and gentle experience. Paige has drawn on her extensive experience with dogs and her passion for animal welfare to create a space where nervous dogs can feel safe and relaxed. The Wags and Wiggles facility features gentle handling techniques and a tranquil atmosphere, all tailored to reduce anxiety for dogs who may otherwise struggle with grooming routines. Her two-family dogs were traumatised by different trips to groomers and so Paige decided to start her business. She now has her own female Spaniel ‘Clover’ who she has vowed to keep happy and calm through positive grooming experiences from the outset. ‘The welfare of the dogs in my care is paramount. This is luxury pampering, and the dogs need to know they can trust the environment they are in. I stop for breaks, cuddles and treats to make the experience truly enjoyable.’

‘I love what I do and the dogs I groom have recovered from anxieties associated with previous grooming experiences with my care and this is my reason for training as a dog groomer. The rural location here at Stonham Barns Park supports the calm and peaceful grooming experience I offer.’ ‘I look forward to helping many other dogs with sensitivities and seeing where the business takes me in the future.’ Paige’s deep-rooted passion for animal welfare stems from her upbringing in Ipswich, where her mother - who loves horses - worked for private owners who were actively involved with GB and international showjumping events. She also provided care for client’s sheep, ducks and a variety of pets. Growing up surrounded by animals, Paige naturally developed a love for their wellbeing, and her own experience working with horses further cemented her commitment to compassionate care. A Sports Science graduate from the University of Essex, Paige has also contributed to the sports sector as a netball coach, bringing her understanding of teamwork and individual attention to her approach at Wags and Wiggles. This unique blend of animal care experience and sports coaching enables Paige to offer a service that is both nurturing and highly attuned to each pet’s needs. ‘Many dogs feel overwhelmed by noisy salons and unfamiliar surroundings, which is why I wanted to create a grooming experience that prioritises each dog’s comfort and emotional wellbeing,’ Paige explains. ‘At Wags and Wiggles, I work at the dog’s pace, ensuring they receive the care they need without unnecessary stress.’ The professional grooming services include everything from a bath and haircut to nail trimming and ear cleaning using top quality grooming products.
